Macro Time!Posted by seventhray (Wayland, United States) on 30 November 2006 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. I was just out messing around with the macro lens the yesterday. We are in between fall and winter right now and pretty pictures can be scarce. You really need to call on the imagination and be pretty creative to come up with anything interesting. I know some people (especially my husband) would cringe at what I am about to say but "I wish it would snow"! I am not to crazy about snow but at least there would be more to photograph. We have only one vehicle in the family so I don't get out and about to much for a wider variety of photos, which is a big bummer!:( But I make do with what I have!:) And I have found some real cool photo's right in my own back yard! I hope you like this piece, I had to put the flash on because it was so late in the day when I was taking the shot. So that is what illuminated the background! I thought that created a neat effect! I have more macro shots I will be putting up in the next couple of days and there is a storm on it's way so maybe I will get some more wild storm shots for you! Take care all and Thanks for all your kind words!:D

I'm impressed with the colours. It looks like a desert flower. I would probably try and take it from a different angle to try and get rid of the shadow. Or completely shadow the whole plant. It's such a lovely picture. 1 Dec 2006 11:35pm Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaIt is a great macro, I also like the illuminated background. The way the light decreases from top-to-bottom also makes for an interesting visual contrast. Nice one. 2 Dec 2006 11:33am |
