The Three Little Bears

One summer day I walked out my back door to get something from the side yard and there was a mother bear and her three cubs! I nearly "you know what"! I never moved so quick in my life to get my camera! Running through the house mumbling "theres a bear in the yard, theres a bear in the yard"! My husband was like "what the......" my kids thought I was nuts (until they took a look out the side door)!
This picture didn't come out that well because I had two different backgrounds working at once. I had the dark shaded forest and the bright (and I mean bright) field. I was so nervouse being that close to bears that I didn't take time to adjust the camera accordingly and I was shaking so bad the image stabilizer couldn't compensate! So I did the best I could with the photoshop.
Note: I was not actually that close to the bears(but still to close for my taste). I used my zoom to get that up close shot! I also have shots of the mother bear and I will be adding them soon.

wow - how exciting to have bears in your own backyard. Of course these three look like they are up to no good scavenging for picnic baskets.

We had just had a pigroast party that weekend so we are figuring they came in because of the smell of the pig cooking. We had cleaned most of the party remnants so there wasn't much for the bears to get into. They kept comming around for about a week and then one day I told the mother bear she had made enough of a mess and she needed to take her cubs and go. She gave me a look, walked into the woods and I never saw them again! The neighbors around the hill say they have visitations occassionally so there still around. I would like to get more pictures of them but I don't think I want them visiting on a regular basis!:)
